Our organisation
Our story
Center for Community Awareness and Youth Empowerment Initiative (CAYEI) is a youth-led, woman-led nonprofit founded in 2024 to drive positive change in grassroots communities. We exist to help vulnerable people improve their living conditions, become more resilient, and realize their full potential through locally led action.
Our model is simple and practical: listen to communities, co-design responses with them, and deliver with local leadership at the center. Through this approach, we strengthen trust, ownership, and long-term sustainability in every intervention.
We work at the intersection of humanitarian response and development, supporting women, youth, children, and marginalized groups through programmes in education, health and nutrition, WASH, peacebuilding, governance and youth engagement, climate resilience, protection, and economic empowerment.
Community Empowerment
We put communities at the centre of every intervention — listening, co-designing, and building lasting ownership.
Localization Approach
Local expertise and leadership drive every programme, ensuring cultural relevance and community trust.
Sustainable Partnerships
We partner with institutions, civil society, and technical actors to responsibly scale our impact.
How we work
- We engage communities from design to implementation for ownership and sustainability.
- We uphold respect, dignity, and inclusion in all responses and stakeholder relationships.
- We prioritize women and youth leadership in both programme delivery and decision-making.
- We partner with institutions, civil society, and technical actors to scale impact responsibly.
- We continuously learn and adapt using feedback, evidence, and local context.
